Mera Guru Ji is an astrology app. We need your birth details to calculate your chart and your phone number to sign you in. We do not sell your data. We do use your device's advertising ID to measure and target our own ads — you can reset or switch that off in your Android settings at any time.

What we collect

Your phone number — to sign you in and prevent duplicate accounts.
Your birth details (date, time, place; name and gender are optional).
Birth details you enter for someone else for a Kundli Milan match — only with their permission, and both people must be 18+.
Your conversations with the gurujis.
A payment reference from Razorpay, which we verify — never your card/UPI/bank details.
Basic usage events (e.g. a chart generated, a screen opened).
Your device's advertising ID — used to measure which of our ads brought people to the app, and to show our ads to people like them. It is shared with Google and with Singular, our advertising measurement partner (see below). You can reset it, or turn it off completely, in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads; the app keeps working either way.
Your IP address — used to suggest your state for GST at checkout, and the city your daily panchang is calculated for. Looked up at most once every six hours, and the IP itself is never stored.

We do not collect device location (no GPS permission), contacts, photos, files, calendar, call logs or SMS.

How we use it

To calculate your chart, answer your questions, keep your account and purchases working, keep the app safe, and check that it works.

Who else sees it

Google — sign-in, notifications, hosting, and — through Firebase Analytics and Google Ads — usage events and your advertising ID, for measuring and targeting our own advertising.
Singular — our advertising measurement partner. It receives your advertising ID, the steps you took after installing (for example that you created a chart or asked a question) and what you bought, and passes what is needed on to Meta and Google Ads so we can tell which of our ads work. It is how we measure advertising, and nothing else.
Razorpay — to process your payments. Payments are collected by Razorpay on our behalf; we never see your card/UPI/bank details.
AI providers, to generate a guruji's reply — with no identifier for you (no phone number, name or account).
Truecaller — only if you choose Truecaller sign-in.
IP geolocation services — your IP, for the state and city suggestions above.
Nobody else. No data brokers, and we never sell personal data.

Where it is stored

In India. Some providers above may process data outside India.

How long we keep it

While your account exists. On a deletion request, data is removed after a 90-day grace period (you can change your mind during it); any public Kundli Milan link is revoked immediately. Two things survive, with your identity stripped out: payment records (required by Indian tax law) and our internal cost records (no content of yours).

Guidance, not advice

Nothing here is medical, legal, psychiatric or financial advice. In a crisis, the app shows helpline numbers instead of a reply.

Your rights

Ask us to show, correct, or delete what we hold. Deletion has its own page: Delete your account. For anything else, write to contact@meraguruji.com — we respond within 30 days.

Children

You must be 18+ to hold an account. A parent may generate a chart for their child; the app talks to the parent, not the child.

If what we collect or share changes, this page and its date will too.
